When you step into the magnificent Djerdap National Park, you will be greeted by nature that breathes history and myth. Among the many legends of this region, the story of the Gornjak wind stands out particularly – a quiet but powerful breath of the mountain.

According to folk beliefs, Gornjak was not just wind, but the voice of nature. Shepherds believed it brought weather changes, while elders described it as a sign of protection and warning. In legends related to the Gornjak monastery, the endowment of Prince Lazar, the wind was often mentioned as an invisible witness to encounters between humans and the divine. Its name remained a symbol of the connection between man, nature, and faith.

Today, Gornjak also lives as inspiration – our accommodation bears its name precisely to convey part of that magic to guests. Staying in our Gornjak facility means waking up to the rustle of leaves, evenings in peace and silence, and the feeling that you are part of a story that has lasted for centuries.
